A deep cycle battery is a lead battery that's designed to offer sustained power over an extended period of time and run reliably up until about 80% of its power has been drained, once that happens you should recharge it.
Power Wheels were created for full discharge and are therefore considered to be deep cycle. With proper care these batteries can last up to 3 years.
