When To Charge A Power Wheels Battery

If you have a new power wheels battery be sure to charge for at least 18 hours but no more than 24 hours. 

After each use, charge the battery for at least 14 hours. 

Ideally, you want to charge the battery before it's completely drained.

To figure out which kind of car model you own, take a look at the bottom of your car and count the number of motors and gear boxes. 

(In many cases, the motors as well as transmissions lie near the rear wheels). 
For example: 
A 6 Volt (Standard) Car has One Motor and One Gear Box and calls for 1 Power Wheels 6 Volt battery with built-in thermal fuse. 
A Super 6 Volt Car has Two Motors/ Two Gear Boxes requires one Power Wheels 6 volt battery with integrated thermal fuse for operationA

How Long Will A Power Wheels Battery Last?

Battery life on average is 1 to 3 years, depending on how you care for your battery.


Be sure to charge your battery for 14 - 18 hours after each use to expand the life of your battery. 

Are Power Wheels Batteries Deep Cycle?

Yes, they are.

A deep cycle battery is a lead battery that's designed to offer sustained power over an extended period of time and run reliably up until about 80% of its power has been drained, once that happens you should recharge it. 

Power Wheels were created for full discharge and are therefore considered to be deep cycle. With proper care these batteries can last up to 3 years.
